- Who can access POL-on?
-
Access to POL-on is granted by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science (MEiN) in accordance with Polish law.
The organisations authorised to access POL-on include:
- higher education institutions
- scientific and research institutes
- international institutes
- the Polish Ministry of Education and Science
- the Polish Ministry of Health
- the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage
- the Polish Ministry of National Defence
- the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange
- the Polish National Science Centre
- the Polish National Centre for Research and Development
- Statistics Poland
- the Polish Science Evaluation Committee
- the Polish Council for Scientific Excellence
- the Polish Accreditation Committee
- the Łukasiewicz Research Network
- the Polish Academy of Sciences
- the Polish Academy of Learning.
- Who can request access to POL-on?
-
Access requests must be submitted by the heads of applicant organisations to MEiN. Requests must be submitted electronically via the ePUAP platform.
Request templates:
- request template for banks
- request template for other entities that conduct independent and continuous scientific activity
The above requests do NOT apply to higher education institutions, research institutes, nor institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). Access for these organisations is granted during their registration at MEiN.
In their requests, heads appoint administrators who will be the first to receive access to the system. Administrators create accounts for and assign roles to other staff members.
Organisations can also designate coordinators who support their activity in POL-on.
- What type of access can be granted?
-
The extent of authorisations granted to users who can access POL-on is also determined by Polish law. Provided they are granted the correct permissions, users can:
- enter, edit and browse data – these permissions are granted to all higher education institutions, research institutes and other scientific institutions
- download and edit data – these permissions are granted, for example, to MEiN and some supervising institutions
- download, verify and browse data – these permissions are granted to:
- Statistics Poland and the Polish Accreditation Committee, to the extent specified by the law
- heads of communes (‘wójtowie’), mayors, and presidents of cities, to the extent of the data that is necessary for them to verify whether students are authorised to have Polish Large Family cards (‘Karta Dużej Rodziny’)
- banks, to the extent of the data that is necessary for them to extend student loans.
- How can users log in to POL-on?
-
The administrators specified in access requests create accounts for and assign roles to other staff members.
Are you a staff member who is waiting for a POL-on account?
1.If you do not already have one, create your account in the Central Logging Module (CLM). A step-by-step guide on how to create an account can be found here.
You can use your CLM account to log in to other Polish science and higher education systems, such as the Polish National Repository of Theses (ORPPD), the Polish Scholarly Bibliography (PBN), the Uniform Anti-plagiarism System (JSA), INVENTORUM and Polish Science.
2. Link your CLM account to your POL-on account.
The administrator will register your POL-on account. You will then receive an email that contains an activation link. Click on the link. This will activate your POL-on account and link your POL-on and CLM accounts.
3. You can now log in to system POL-on.
If you are unable to perform any actions despite being logged in to the system, contact your administrator and ensure that they have granted you the necessary permissions. - What can users do using POL-on?
-
POL-on comprises twenty-two modules that are described briefly in the Modules tab. Access to specific modules depends on the roles assigned by administrators. The list of available roles can be found here.
The correct assignment of roles falls under the responsibility of administrators of relevant institutions, not the POL-on owner.
